Johan Cruijff Trophy 2007

On 11 August 2007 Ajax played against last years national champion PSV in the Amsterdam Arena. Ajax won the match with 1-0. This match at the start of the season was the first test how well the clubs had prepared this season. Especially Ajax played a strong first 30 minutes and created some opportunities to score. After a rush from the new attacker Rommedahl and shots of Huntelaar, the PSV defence was a chaos. Then the ball fell before Gabri, who shot the ball hard passed the goalkeeper. This was the only goal of the match. The second half was not very exciting with no big chances for both teams to score a goal. Gregory van der Wiel Stekelenburg in the sky. Kennedy new at Ajax.
